For Outlook Users (Microsoft 365 Email Accounts)

  1. Viewing the Message
    • Open the email in your inbox.
    • If using new Outlook, an alert about restricted permissions will appear in the Reading pane.
    • After opening the message, it can be read directly.
  2. Replying to the Message
    • Click Reply or Reply All.
    • Type your reply and click Send.
    • An encrypted copy of your reply will be sent to you.

For Non-Outlook Users (Non-Microsoft 365 Accounts)

  1. Viewing the Message
    • Open the email in your inbox.
    • Click the Read the message link in the email body.
    • Choose how to sign in (e.g., Google, Yahoo, Microsoft). If not using one of these services, select Sign in with a one-time passcode.
  2. Using a One-Time Passcode
    • Check your inbox for the passcode email.
    • Enter the passcode on the web page where prompted and select Continue.
    • Note: Passcodes expire after 15 minutes. If expired, restart the process by opening the message again.
  3. Replying to the Message
    • To reply, follow the same steps as for reading. You will send an encrypted reply and have a copy sent to yourself automatically.

Note: If using Outlook for Windows (2019 or newer), Outlook for iOS/Android, or Outlook on the web, encrypted messages can be read directly with supported Microsoft 365 accounts.
