Formatting a USB Flash Drive to exFAT (Windows)

To format your flash drive to exFAT formatting on Windows, follow the instructions below:

Note: Reminder--Before reformatting a USB device, it's recommended to move any files that need to be saved to another location.

 

  1. From File Explorer, navigate to your flash drive.

 

  1. Select “Format” on your flash drive

 

 

  1. Select “exFAT” under file system

 

 

 

  1. Select “Start.”

 

Once formatting is complete, you will be able to move your saved documents back onto your flash drive.
