Add a network share as a desktop shortcut on MacOS

  1. Login as user
  2. Open Finder
  3. Select Go from the menu and select "Connect to Server"
  4. Type in the name of the share
    1. For example: smb://sherman/Marketing
  5. With the window that opens, select File>Make Alias
  6. The shortcut is now on the desktop, rename as needed
